Meet Calvin
Calvin has been a therapist for about six years and working in the field of counseling has been a dream of his for well over twenty years in the making. Calvin’s counseling experience has come from working with a wide variety of therapeutic settings. These have included; private practice, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential, and inpatient facilities that served a variety of mental health needs.
Through Calvin’s personal experience in counseling as a child, he began to see the impact that mental health care could have on an individual. And it was then that Calvin began to think that he wanted to extend the beneficial care that he had received to others one day.
After graduating from Lake Highlands high school in Dallas, Calvin went to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, to earn a BA in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. This achievement was an exciting first step towards beginning his career as a counselor. After graduating, Calvin returned home to Dallas, Texas, and achieved a master’s degree in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Calvin’s counseling specialties include disordered eating, addictive behaviors, depression, , anxiety, parenting support, adolescents/emerging adults, and couple’s counseling. However, Calvin is also comfortable offering counseling to a wide variety of mental health needs that extend beyond this list. One of the unique gifts that Calvin brings to the therapeutic space is his unwavering hope for others. This hope is something that drives his practice of counseling and how he cares for those he works with. When a person’s life is supplemented with support from a mental health professional, Calvin is confident that each individual has the potential to overcome or endure any difficult obstacle someone may be facing. Throughout his time in various therapeutic settings, Calvin has seen time and time again that people can change, and he firmly believes that stories can be rewritten.
So, are you ready to identify your suffering and challenge yourself to gain the endurance that can mold you into a new character? If so, Calvin is confident that the work you will do together will help you become a healthier version of yourself.
Despite the issues you may feel like you are wrestling with, Calvin is ready and willing to walk with you through the counseling process. Life can bring obstacles that appear to obstruct our goals, but by partnering with a therapist, you will begin to navigate your way back to those dreams. Reach out, and take the first step towards helping you reach your full potential.

Meet Shayla
Many of the people who come to work with Shayla feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted by overthinking, or stuck in a season that feels heavier than it should. Others are navigating depression, school or work stress, parenting challenges, relationship strain, or the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy and postpartum life. If any of this sounds familiar, Shayla’s clients often say they feel understood and relieved to find someone who truly listens.
Shayla Pattillo, M.Ed., LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults, teens, and parents. Her approach is warm, steady, and down-to-earth. Clients frequently describe feeling supported and able to breathe a little easier after sessions. Her first priority is getting to know each person—what they’re carrying, what matters to them, and what they hope will feel different.
Shayla uses evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused strategies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and she tailors everything to each client’s needs. She values practical tools as much as insight and enjoys helping clients identify small, meaningful changes they can begin using right away.
For clients who desire it, Shayla can integrate faith into therapy in a way that feels natural and comfortable—whether through prayer, Scripture, or exploring how beliefs shape healing.
Outside of counseling, Shayla prioritizes time with her family, staying active, and tending to her spiritual and emotional well-being so she can show up fully for the people she serves.
Shayla is honored to walk alongside individuals who feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or ready for something to change. One of her favorite quotes from C.S. Lewis is, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
If you’re ready to take that next step, she would love to meet you.
